Last year I wanted to hand out pamphlets for AutoWIKI during my drive across Canada, and I decided to put a QR code for easy access to our website. I didn't know how easy it was to generate QR codes then yet, but I had some experience with URL shortening websites that also included a QR code. I assumed QR Code Generator would be similar. As I posted in this review, They make it really easy to sign up, and make it seem like the trial period is only for advanced metrics, they don't warn you that your QR codes will stop working after the trial period is done. Then they won't sell you just one month of service either, they try to gouge you for a full year. Their user experience is designed for the maximum user pain.

Hold your QR code Ransom

Most URL shortening, and QR code providers, try to upsell you on link metrics and other reporting services. But these guys literally make the QR code useless until you fork over 12 months of payment. I accidentally printed out 300 pamphlets with their QR code before I knew this. I'm sure it was buried in their terms of use somewhere, but it was not obvious when signing up. The 4.6 rating is doubtful. Better check sitejabber for more authentic reviews.
