Trustpilot is a platform for user-generated reviews of businesses, but its impartiality has been questioned. Companies can pay for features like inviting customers to leave reviews, which might skew results. Although Trustpilot claims to combat fake reviews, some users, like myself, have had negative reviews removed, which raises concerns about "pay to play" or light-scale bribery to suppress criticism.

In my case, I left a negative review about Upwork, which was subsequently removed.
