YouTube is a video streaming service that was acquired by Alphabet, Inc., back when it was known as Google.
Around the time YouTube was acquired, it was getting sued by a lot of big TV companies for a IP infringement. Despite having a policy where content publishers could request takedowns, an internal memo was discovered that said they should not proactively take down pirated content, but only be reactive one content owners requested it's removal, as it would directly impact their bottom line at the time. They obviously settled the matter.
