The story after the rebellion wins is always harder to tell

Interesting reel, from Author Jason K Pargin about how telling the story after the rebellion ends is much harder, and it seems people just love to fixate on the story of the rebellion, or even where the protagonist dies during the rebellion, because it's such a more clean ending.

This reminds me of a scene in All the King's Men, where this politician, played by Sean Penn, basically says something along the lines of: there’s no such thing as good and bad — there’s what there is, and then you can try to make it better. And yes, it’s a much more subtle story to tell, and definitely not as action-figure-sellable as the pure rebellion story.
