While Pixar’s method successfully creates films with universal appeal, I disagree with the idea that because kids may lack refined taste, they shouldn't be the primary focus. Japanese filmmakers dedicate their children's movies entirely to young audiences. These films are specifically crafted to engage and educate children, complete with lessons on manners and values. It never even occurs to them to embed adult jokes that only parents will appreciate, because bored parents are not their target audience. This approach ensures that the films are genuinely kid-centric, providing pure and enjoyable experiences designed exclusively for children.
