I noticed a "100% Memory Full" notice at the top of my ChatGPT screen, which got me curious about how memory works. Turns out, it doesn’t save every chat (though it does remember them unless you delete them), but rather "helpful bits" from conversations. My list was so long that I gave up on curating it and just deleted the full memory. Fortunately, I have a Chrome extension called Echoes that lets me search past conversations.
